A&P MechanicWe are seeking experienced A&P Mechanics to join our team supporting commercial aircraft operations. Your rotary- or fixed-wing experience (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard) is highly valued, and A&P assistance programs may be available.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform heavy maintenance, modifications, and overhauls on commercial aircraft systems and structuresUse technical manuals, schematics, and engineering data to complete accurate repairsDocument all work in accordance with FAA regulations and company proceduresEnsure compliance with Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service BulletinsConduct pre-flight, post-flight, and turnaround inspectionsTroubleshoot and repair systems during active operationsPerform component replacements and light repairs to keep aircraft in serviceCoordinate with flight crews and dispatch for real-time updatesRespond to urgent aircraft-on-ground (AOG) eventsTravel as needed to support remote maintenance and return aircraft to service quicklyWork independently under time-sensitive conditions while communicating with maintenance controlQualificationsRequired: FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) CertificationRequired: 3+ years of aircraft maintenance experience (B737, A320, B747 or similar)Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and aircraft systemsAbility to interpret technical documentation and engineering drawingsProficient with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and test instrumentsFlexible for travel, shifts, nights, and weekends as neededPreferred Skills: Experience in MRO environments and C/D checksLine maintenance and AOG response experience highly valuedHazardous material handling familiarityAbility to obtain airport SIDA badgePhysical Requirements: Lift up to 25 lbs and perform overhead workWork at heights and in confined spacesStand, kneel, and walk for extended periodsWhy Work Here?Competitive Pay: $35 – $45/hour, based on experienceMilitary-Friendly: Transition your aviation maintenance skills directly into civilian aircraft operationsLong-Term Stability: Contract-to-hire with career growth opportunitiesDynamic Environment: Exposure to hangar, line, and AOG maintenance operationsFlexible Schedule: 1st Sun-Wed 4-10's or Thurs-Sat 3-13's - open to night shift in the futureJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mountain Brook, AL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
